“Goodnight, America, wherever you are.” Those seemed like familiar words at the end of the rerun of the first episode of Midnight Caller on Forces TV. I missed the copyright date but Mr. Internet assures me that the series began at the end of 1988. Which means the Midnight Caller is now an old bloke, and may even be a Midnight Crawler.
