My Body Mass Index has gone up from 18 when I was rather ill earlier in the year to 20. Which is me okay, I thought. Wrong!
According to cheerful experts in Denmark, those with a BMI of 18.5 to 20 are twice as likely to die early compared to those with a BMI of 22.5 to 25. And those with a BMI of 20 to 22.5 have a 27% chance of dying early. So it looks like the biscuit tin is going to be my best friend for a while until I’ve put on a stone and a half in weight. And I need a shake of turmeric on my meals as well as black pepper.
p.s. One of my correspondents also has a BMI of 20 but as he’s 80 years old, he thinks he’s out of danger of dying early!
