Some might believe it

UNESCO wants us to believe that a Welsh slate quarry is a World Heritage site on a par with the Taj Mahal and Machu Pichu. But you need a pretty stretchy imagination.

Well, why not!

Apparently, what we have been told is a plague brewed up in China is just a part of a plot by the CIA to reduce the population of our overcrowded planet by 50% over a period of 5 years. Well, if you concoct a silly story, I suppose it makes sense to make it really good.

Just Do It

Should we bribe young people to get them vaccinated? No bloody way. And they should count themselves lucky they’re not being charged for something that could spare them a lot of grief if they get a dose of the Chinese plague.

Ingrained in us

Apparently singing the “Wham, bam, thank you, ma’am” song to get your hand-washing time right is no longer necessary if you’re doubly vaccinated. But it has become a habit after I venture out, and I tend not to remember that I don’t need to do it any more until I get to the “Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump” chorus.

Wot’s the message?

A TV advert that’s something to do with credit features a young lady with BIG hair going round a cartoon house switching all the lights on. Get credit karma & sod the carbon footprint? That’s going to be popular with the Green KGB!

The order to make it interesting worked

Shambles at the start of the Hungarian GP, Mad Max off the soggy track and it all happened behind Hamilton, so he couldn’t be blamed. Then his team bogged his switch to slick tyres and put him at the back; 14th with 6 crashed out.
A better 2nd stop put Hamilton ahead of Mad Max. He got stuck behind Alonso and didn’t get past for 4th until lap 65/70 but he had time to reach 3rd with a fastest lap point. Ocon won, Vettel a rare 2nd and Mad Max got 1 point for 10th.

Worth Watching but bin the cliché

Deception @ 9 p.m. on Alibi on Friday looks a very promising series for magic fans. I’m not sure about the ongoing saga of the hissy tart who wanted Cameron’s brother in gaol, though.
Yes,  it is different from the tedious yet apparently essential sub-plot of the detective looking for a relative’s killer. But different ain’t always that much of a recommendation. And this is just The Mental Case’s Red John done different.
