I’ve just started re-reading From Potter’s Field by Patricia Cornwell, which was published in 1995, 25 years ago. Cops back then, I was surprised to read, were being sent on ineffective cultural diversity courses. But hey, if the in-people are making cash out of a scam, it will endure. And they will probably still be running it 25 years from now.
