Isn’t it strange how much trouble politicians have with the first rule of messing with the truth. You’d think that someone who considers reality to be entirely fluid would know that if you’re going to lie to the people, it’s always a good idea to give them something they could believe. So when Dave the Leader denies he ever said he wanted to be the “heir to Blair”, it’s a bullet in the foot every time – not to mention everyone thinking he’s just like Tony B. Liar.
