The leader of the opposition is a lawyer with no opinions of his own and his deputy likes to spend the night raving and working her way through a couple of bottles of spirits with a dash of orange juice to make the brew look healthy.
Not people who are likely to be much good at piloting the ship of state through stormy waters.
