Reform UK wants everyone who is kept dangling on the phone by HMRC to get a £30 discount. Which runs the risk of a ‘blunder’ by HMRC turning it into a penalty of 30 quid, and the A.I in charge of the phone system taking it upon itself to disconnect waiting calls after 29 minutes.
