Size ain’t everything

Africa is lobbying for the abolition of the Mercator map of the world as it exaggerates the size of countries in the northern hemisphere.
    In reality, as the people keen to sell new maps of the world want us to know, Africa is bigger than the US, China, India, Japan, Mexico and most of Europe put together.
    But if this move is supposed to reshape how regions are perceived politically and economically, it will lead to the obvious questions of why everything wasn’t invented in Africa and why Africa doesn’t rule the world.
    Sheer lack of ambition?
