Thatcher drove Scots to drink?

I bet it was a short journey. In fact, it’s probably in the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s shortest. The author of this pathetic whinge is one A. Neil, MSP, (who is more an MSF). He reckons that Mrs. Thatcher did it by depriving the Scots of subsidies from English taxpayers for their loss-making heavy industries. Funny how they still had enough cash to turn into alkies.
