Mixed bag

A 700-page paperback of SF stories, Infinite Stars, starts with continuations of established themes. I abandoned the first offering part-way in as not going anywhere and not about anything interesting.
    The second was a ‘son of Dune author’ effort and familiar territory. The third was something new to me, like the first, but readable and not reliant on knowing what went before.
