How strange that sugar should have turned bread into public enemy No. 1. Here at the mansion, our bread provider puts a bit of sugar into the yeast to get it started, but that’s all that goes into the recipe. The rest is just flour and water and a spot of secret (non-sugar) ingredient. And the end product is met with universal approval.
