Back in the 1970s, there was a book created called Night Flowers which introduced the concept of Refuse Reclamation Centres to an imagined group of states. One bin for everything for the customers and everything sorted out at the RRC.
Fifty years on, the council in Denbighshire in Wales is forcing residents to do the RRC’s job by loading them with 12 bins. And, no doubt, hoping to rake in fines for putting the wrong thing in a bin.
