Degalle – that’s what they called Lucas in the sub-titles for an episode of the ancient TV version of Maigret with all the smoking. Why?
    “There’s a letter in this stocking” instead of a ladder. Sou, the coin, was soul. OK for Lucas later on. ‘One man woman’ for ‘one mad woman’. And lots more.
    What planet are the sub-titlers from!
