A trawl through the Mansion’s bookcases turned up a 2002 edition of the Manchester AtoZ, which revealed that there are 2 Downing Streets in the area.
There is one in Ashton-under-Lyme with easy access to the M60 motorway.
Nearer the city centre, the north-south road that goes past Piccadilly railway station becomes Downing Street for a while after being crossed by the A57(M).
