One does feel there is something twisted about a woman writing to a newspaper to complain about Tory staffers daring to have a party in December 2020 when her husband was sent home from hospital to die – when she found out about the party a year and a half after the event.
It certainly stifles any reflex sympathy, a demand that everyone else should have been miserable on that day because she was, but that’s human beings for you.
Everything isn’t connected. Misery is not the default.
