The Frank of Cursenstein (1954) can’t have been a proper Hammer Film – it didn’t have Michael Ripper in it. Top billing for Peter Cushing, small lettering for Christopher Lee as the monster, who didn’t have much of a part.
Melvyn Hayes, later in It Ain’t Half Hot, Mum, was another familiar name – he was the young Corbynstein.
The Mansion cat wasn’t impressed. She slept right through the epic.
Full marks for the picture quality of the current version.
